Solana Devnet USDC – How to Get Test USDC
Mainnet USDC is Circle’s dollar token on Solana. Devnet is a separate cluster. A token named USDC on devnet is not redeemable for dollars and will not appear in a mainnet wallet. Solana Toolset does not operate a USDC faucet and does not airdrop test USDC.
What developers actually need
Most tests need devnet SOL for fees, plus a token mint your program expects. Get SOL from a faucet listed on Solana faucets. If your app only needs “some SPL token,” create one with Create a Solana token while the header is set to devnet. That mint is yours. It is not USDC.
If you need Circle’s devnet USDC
Use Circle’s own devnet documentation and the mint address they publish for that cluster. Match the mint in an explorer with cluster=devnet. A random mint with symbol USDC is not that asset. Common failures: requesting on mainnet, using the mainnet USDC mint on devnet, or expecting a faucet on this website to credit a wallet.
Do not mix clusters
An address can exist on both clusters with different contents. Always check the network switch in the header before you sign, and never send mainnet SOL to “test” a devnet-only flow.

Devnet USDC FAQ
- Does Solana Toolset have a USDC faucet?
- No. This site does not mint or send USDC, on devnet or mainnet. The faucet page lists third-party SOL faucets for devnet and testnet only.
- Is devnet USDC real money?
- No. Devnet tokens cannot be withdrawn as mainnet USDC. A devnet mint that uses the symbol USDC is a test mint unless you have verified it is Circle’s official devnet mint.
- Where do I get devnet SOL?
- Use the Solana faucets page. Those links request test SOL, not USDC.
